What started out as a DJ hobby alongside bar management quickly had the potential of becoming a professional career for the half-Dutch-Danish Han Suurland!
So after a few years’ practise, DJ HanSom arose from the pink dungeons of Bar Prik in 2010, and was soon to be found behind the decks at famous local Amsterdam clubs such as Paradiso (Lovedance), COC (XxxLeather XL), Boom Chicago (Rapido Afterparty), Club Panama (Unleashed) and Westerunie (Funhouse).
Other Dutch event's since include Think Pink, at Pink Monday Tilburg, Liberation parties at Homomonument and several Canal Parades during Gay Pride Amsterdam.
DJ HanSom can now best be described as a creative, international, uplifting and progressive, club and event DJ.
He mixes his music life on stage, on intuition and in co-operation with the crowd and it's energy!
So, without the use of pre-made playlists or fancy sync buttons – you can call him old fashioned, but he won't mind!
He spins tech house, techno, deep house and underground with (or without) just enough vocals.
Add to that a weakness for re-invented club classics and
instrumental sounds, throw in a few surprising twists and slightly alternative beats and you will hear why HanSom is already enjoying international recognition!
In summer 2015 he played at the Brussels Pride main party Revelation as well as the Amsterdam Pride main party Funhouse, while, last year, he was one of the main DJ's at the 'Worldwide' party during World Pride in Toronto, Canada.
He is currently resident in the popular Club Church, at fetish parties such as XxxLeather, SOS and (Z)onderbroek, but also at the more dance-orientated
parties such as Big Blue, Hoerenbal and Furball.
Other mayor residencies include Rapido's Funhouse and Sven's all fetish party Revelation.
